Spots and wind conditions in Tarifa
The dominant winds in Tarifa are the Levante and the Poniente. The Levante is a warm, dry, easterly wind that can be quite strong, gusting up to 100 km/h at times. Sea conditions are fairly flat as this wind is side/side-off. This wind blows all day long and the spot we use is Los Lances beach (Chiringuito Agua).
The Poniente, on the other hand, is a cooler wind from the west, blowing side-on. This wind is often more moderate and more stable, which makes it pleasant for activities at sea. It picks up in the afternoon, we use the Punta Paloma Chiringuito Volare spot to have flat water and enjoy it all afternoon! These unique wind conditions make Tarifa one of the best spots in the world for water sports!

Balneario
Want to take in the sights on a windy day. Come and watch the kitesurfers jump near the dike in Tarifa! The best kitesurfers in the world come to train every year. Also come and observe the wing on the days when the swell enters Tarifa.
Punta Paloma
The Punta Paloma spot is located right next to the Valdevaqueros spot. This magnificent spot near the dunes of Punta Paloma is perfect for learning to wing foil during poniente days.
Valdevaqueros
This spot is perfect for slow days for learning to wing foil, fewer waves than in Los Lances and thermal wind generally present in the afternoon.
Los Lances
A 6 km beach, perfect for learning wing-foiling. You will have space to practice in safety and a flat body of water to learn in better conditions. Our courses usually take place on this beach on Levante days. You can relax at the end of your session in the chiringuitos located on the beach.
You are independent and want to discover new spots.
Even if Tarifa is windy the vast majority of the time, you can discover other spots on a windless day. Or simply if you want to explore the region. Please note that we do not teach at these spots. In fact, they do not have safety boats like in Tarifa. And, due to their conditions, they are less conducive to learning to wing foil.

Los Caños de Meca
Los Caños de Meca is located about 50 minutes by car from Tarifa towards Cádiz. This spot generally works when the wind is very strong in Tarifa. A fairly difficult spot for beginners but incredible if you have a little experience. This spot is perfect if you are looking for waves and strong wind.
Palmones
Palmones is located near Algeciras, 25 minutes by car from Tarifa. You will have seen Gibraltar! On very windy days, this spot may be an option if you are independent.
La Bajeta
Want a swell and strong, stable wind? This spot is for you. Although in the middle of the sea about 5km from Valdevaqueros, this spot works very well at low tide.
Getares
This spot also works when the levante is very strong in Tarifa. The wind is quite onshore with waves.
